Place Name
According to John W Brown in the Streatham Heritage Trail: Greyhound Lane this road was “laid out in 1872 and named after the Lewin family. In October 1794 Benjamin Lewin was buried in St Leonard’s Churchyard and his gravestone describes him as ‘A man greatly respected by all who had the pleasure of his acquaintance.’ The road comprises some of the finest late Victorian buildings in south Streatham.”
