Place Name
The name can be traced back to 1257 when it was the manorial home of Walter Albyn, it was still in the family more than a century later, being referred to in documents as the land of Albyn in 1385. In the 16thCentury, the current farmhouse was built, and by the now the name was so established that Albyns was featured on the Ordnance Survey map of 1888.
