Place Name
One of four streets whose names with a tree theme which were approved by the Highways and Cleansing Committee of Harrow District Council on October 5, 1937 for the Laing Estate, Hatch End. The other street names passed at the same meeting were: Ashcroft, Oakmeade, and Hazelcroft. However Linden Close and Linden Drive, which were also proposed for the development were rejected. The minutes do not explain why. Ironically this was laid out in a field where there were no trees.
