Directional. Originally Yeading Road. Yeading is very early Saxon and was originally Geddingas or Geddinges, meaning the people of Geddi. It is mentioned as far back as AD757 recorded as Geddinges but by the 14thCentury the G had been dropped for the phonetic Y, with Yeddinggs in 1135 and Yeddyng in 1331.
