Waltham Forest Housing Action Trust used trees and plants as the inspiration for new streets in its redevelopment of the Oliver Close council estate which was developed between 1990 and 2001. This was laid out over former nurseries used for plants from the adjacent allotment gardens. Pine being the the generic name for evergreen, coniferous resinous trees. Nearby streets on the estate include Alpine Way, Camellia Close, Larch Road, Magnolia Close, Osier Way, Robinia Crescent, Tupelo Road, and Walnut Road.
