Place Name
Like Acacia Place and Acacia Gardens nearby, this has been named after a tree that used to grow at the junction with Finchley Road. Developers would often use existing features as inspiration for road name. It was laid out along the south side of St John’s Wood farmyard in the 1830s, following the development of Elm Tree Road, Oak Tree Road and Avenue Road.
