Sharon Susan Rendle (June 18, 1966) was a medal winning judoka at the Barcelona Summer Olympics in 1992 competing in the women’s featherweight division having previously won a gold medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, where women’s judo was held as a demonstration sport. She earned several more medals at the World Championships including Gold at both the 1987 World Judo Championships and the 1989 World Judo Championships. She was born in Kingston upon Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire. This road is named like many on the former brickworks site in Woodside after British Olympic athletes. The cluster includes Christie Drive, Adams Way, Backley Gardens, Goodhew Road, Akabusi Close, and Coe Avenue.
