Ursula Henning (July 26, 1761 – April 11, 1840), the daughter of John and Eliza Henning, was the paternal grandmother of Arthur C Pain who developed some plots of land his father Edward, a Somerset solicitor turned London speculator had bought. Edward had bought the land from the then Earl Spencer when he sold parts of his extensive estate. Originally the land was gifted to Westminster Abbey by William the Conquerer. It was seized by Henry VIII at the dissolution of the monasteries in 1540 and given to the St John family before passing, at the end of the 18thCentury, to the Spencer family. The road was laid out sometime around 1876 and was named after family members. Ursula was a family name Arthur’s half-sister was named Grace Ursula in 1868.
