Place Name
Named after the valley of Glen Ure which is located in Argyll and Bute, Scotland, it means the glen (or hollow) or the yew tree. Many of the roads around Eltham Park are named after places in Scotland, the homeland of its developer Archibald Cameron Corbett, 1st Baron Rowallan, a Scottish Liberal Party and Liberal Unionist Party politician, who being a teetotaller he did not allow any pubs to be built in the area.
