Jordan de Briset (died 1111), also known as Jordan FitzRalph, was Lord of Clerkenwell, a “wealthy and pious man” who owned the manor at Well Hall in sometime around 1100. He was a Norman baron, who founded the Knights Hospitallers’ of St John of Jerusalem hospital and priory at Clerkenwell and the nunnery of St Mary, during the reign of Henry II. It is one of a cluster of street names connected with the manor.
