A reference to the positions of Lord Lieutenant of the counties of Hereford and Radnor and steward of crown manors for Radnorshire, which were held by James Brydges (January 6, 1673 – August 9, 1744), 1st Duke of Chandos, who built, lived and died at Cannons House.
