Place Name
Ordinarily this would suggest a meadow with a hazel tree. But, according to Doreen Willcox’s book Barnet’s History in its Street Names the Arkley road was named sometime around 1975 after a woman called Hazel Bishop, who was the wife of the builder, Michael Bishop.
