Richard Charles Farr was a local builder whose Chase Side business was featured in local directories in 1867. However he had been in the area for some decades by then and was recorded as carving out a plaque to a local man, Benjamin Crouch Danby, who had been murdered on December 19, 1832. The first house was occupied in 1904.
