Place Name
Named after the adjoining tavern, Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, which is still there today and claims to be from 1667, when the present house was rebuilt after the Great Fire. The foundation is, however, very much older. Former names of this court were Three Falcon Court and before that White Horse Inn.
