Place Name
Named after a tavern that stood here from at least the mid-15thCentury. The bush was an old symbol for a drinking establishment as ivy was the plant sacred to Bacchus, the god of wine. The road and the tavern were first recorded as Le Busshlane and Le Busshetavern in 1445.
