Place Name
A corruption of a 12thCentury landowner’s name possibly Goudren, Guthurun or Godrun, thought to be after an early Danish/Norse landowner. The street was originally known as Godron Lane sometime around 1180 and later Godrunelane in 1200 and Gouthelane in 1342 before making the leap to Gutterlane in 1472.
