This off-shoot from Shakespeare Crescent is clearly a literary joke. Anne Hathaway (1556 – August 6, 1623) being the wife of the great playwright William Shakespeare. They were married in 1582, when he was 18 and she was 26 years old. In his will Shakespeare famously made only one bequest to his wife, his “second-best bed with the furniture”.
