Place Name
One of a small cluster of streets commemorating the Leman family and their spouses. This is most likely named after Mary Mansell, the Welsh wife of local landowner Sir William Leman, 2nd Baronet (December 19, 1637 – July 18, 1701). He was the son of William Leman and Rebecca Prescott. Originally this road only ran between Prescott Street and Alie Street (or as it was spelt then Ayliff Street).
