Place Name
Commemorating the deaths of Thomson and Anne Bonar, residents of Camden Place who were murdered in their bedchamber on May 31, 1813. Philip Nicholson, their footman, was arrested shortly afterwards, and although he initially denied his guilt, subsequently confessed. A monument to the couple, bearing details of the murder, lies in St Nicholas churchyard.
