Place Name

From the Old English words sette and copp, meaning a flat hill top. The name first went on public record in AD1254, when the area was known Cetecopp. By AD1301, the name changed to Settecope, and later, in 31 years later as Sedecoppe and in AD1407 it was different again, appearing as Sidycope.
