Milk Yard, E1W

Place Name

Featuring on John Rocque’s map of AD1746, the area was mostly developed except for one field, which would have been used to graze cows for milk supply to the City. Within a few years of the map however this last vestige of its rural past had gone. In its place, ironically, was an animal charcoal works.
