Maxwell Gardens, BR6

Place Name

This was built on land belonging to the Tubbenden House estate. It was named after Sir Arthur Maxwell-Willshire one of the last residents of the property. When the railway was built so too was the nearby pub the Maxwell Arms, which later became The Maxwell. By AD1911 William Henry Cook moved to his new farm in Tubbenden Lane this was one of the roads that was later laid out over it.
