Place Name

Descriptive. These originally formed part of the landholding of the Priory at Clerkenwell. But some 60 acres of the property was confiscated by Henry VIII during the dissolution in 1541. Previous names have included the Shoulder of Mutton Fields after a nearby tavern but today they are the fields near London.
