Place Name

Named after Earlham Hall, near Norwich, which was the seat of the Gurney family and now forms part of the campus of University of East Anglia. The Gurney family owned large swathes of Forest Gate in mid Victorian times and with other Quaker families, like the Frys and Barclays, were merchants and bankers in the City of London.
