Crescent, EC3N

Place Name

This Georgian street is thought to be the first crescent-shaped street in London. It was built in the 1770s and the term, like nearby Circus, had only just become fashionable following the new Royal Crescent and Royal Circus in Bath. When built it was one of the earliest planned residential developments in London and is one of the few such developments of this date to survive.
