Place Name

Named after the Duke of Clarence pub, which itself was named in honour of George III’s third son William (August 21, 1765 – June 20, 1837), who was made Duke of Clarence and St Andrews and later crowned William IV. The pub stood at 78 Clarence Road until it closed in the 1990s and was converted into a residential property.
